Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Boston Announces Affiliation with Jewish Family Service of Worcester
Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Boston (www.jfcsboston.org) has announced that it is now affiliated with Jewish Family Service of Worcester, expanding the scope of services available to local
residents and enhancing impact through the combined resources of the organizations. JFSW provides counseling, mediation, guardianship, adoption, and other social services to support individuals and families in need.
“The common services and values of our two agencies made this affiliation a natural fit,” said Doug Ross, JFS Worcester Board President. “Our two organizations will build on each other’s strengths while we continue to offer our existing services and introduce new ones.”
Starting with programs that have a strong Jewish and community focus, such as its Caring Communities Resource Network, programs for new parents and babies, and services for people with disabilities, JF&CS will leverage its extensive resources to where they are most needed in Central Massachusetts and Worcester County. As one of the country’s largest nonprofits, with almost 150 years of service, JF&CS will integrate a wide array of its programs with JFS Worcester’s flagship clinical programs – mental health and guardianship – to expand health and human services throughout the region.
“By creating an affiliation with JFS Worcester, our organizations will collectively be able to help more people in many different locations more profoundly,” added JF&CS CEO Rimma Zelfand. “We are pleased to create this affiliation which will allow us to serve even more people in need.”
The Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts was instrumental in facilitating and supporting the affiliation. “We are very excited and pleased to welcome JF&CS to our community,” said Howard Borer, Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Central MA. “Together we will be able to provide new and enhanced programs and services that will meet the ever growing diverse needs of the Jewish communities of Central Massachusetts.”
